A view of the present from the past
Mapping present ruinous buildings can be quiet difficult however there's a significant focus and effort in sourcing the whereabouts of such buildings and artifacts nowadays. The Anglicanisation and colonisation of Ireland by the English hierarchy was part of the reason why there was a greater interest in topography and landscaping during the 16th and 17th century. It was through this efforts that we can say Ireland had benefited from English Rule. The English were a much more advanced nation in terms of technology and education. As a result of colonisation, the English had Anglicised much of the Irish named cities and towns and this most evident in their mapping through placenames.
